for Rural LGBTQ+ People

  • We Need Each Other

    REQUEST FUNDS

NEW REQUESTS WILL OPEN IN EARLY MARCH 2025

In 2025, we have a limited amount of mutual aid funds to support LGBTQ+ people currently living in rural Wabanaki territory (ME, NH, VT) with immediate needs, who do not have another way to pay and who need help with covering the cost of: rent, utilities, heat, medical care, or document costs (including but not limited to: driver's license/passport renewals and/or gender marker changes, vital records fees, car registration fees, court fees, etc).

If we’re unable to fulfill your request or if we’re unable to fully meet your need we will try our best to connect you with other resources and mutual aid funds that may be able to. Requests will be received on a rolling basis and we’ll continue meeting eligible requests as our funds allow. This page will be updated once we’ve utilized all of our mutual aid funds for the year.

Please note that we’re unable to give funds via apps (paypal, venmo, zelle, cashapp, etc). Please reach out via email if you are looking for support. If you’re seeking support on behalf of someone else–please get their consent before reaching out.

  • OTHER MUTUAL AID

This mutual aid fund is only one of the ways we are working to support our community. We are building resilient and joyful rural LGBTQ+ communities which entail that radical act of community care.

As a rural queer community, we take care of each other through acts of love, creativity, and resistance. We take care of each other by building a community where we are seen, visible, and powerful.

Some of the other ways we support each other are through care packages, zines, food, rides, and connecting our community members with resources.

Get in touch below if you are interested in these other types of mutual aid.

Some of our past mutual aid efforts

Since 2020, we have raised and redistributed over $100,000 to rural LGBTQ+ community members throughout Wabanaki territory in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Our 2023 & 2024 Mutual Aid Funds focused on those who were directly impacted by the flooding in Vermont.
