After spending a great deal of 2023 on the work of flood recovery efforts & mutual aid, 2024 has been a year of growth for Out in the Open! We’ve meaningfully expanded our work in Maine, purchased a piece of land to be our permanent home in Brattleboro, and we’ve grown our programmatic and mutual aid offerings.
We need your support to continue providing essential support to LGBTQ people living in rural communities.
Are You With Us?
You can help build movements with us and organize for positive change. Your contributions make it possible for rural LGBTQ folks to access greatly-needed resources and community.
Can you help us meet our $20,000 June fundraising goal by making a meaningful donation now?
Your gift this June will support:
making our land more accessible & Summit-ready! Donations, in part, will go to creating necessary infrastructure to support in-person events like an accessible restroom and covered gathering spaces.
our Mutual HandyAid program and LGBTQ+ Trades Meetings in Maine—expanding access to safe & secure housing and peer supports.
the Power & Belonging Fellowship–including the Community Safety Network & Creative Arts & Social Practice cohorts, weaving powerful networks in Central & Midcoast Maine.
keeping our Summits and Programs low cost and/or free so they are accessible to all in our community including food, childcare, and travel supports.
Thank you for all the ways you support rural LGBTQ communities!
